How do I find out if a business is bonded or has insurance?

I put a down payment for a new roof and the company has done nothing. Ithas been almost 2 months. I have to call him everyday and all I get is another excuse.

Ask them. Also, it may be in their ad in the phone book or on TV.

Ask them for proof. Proof meaning showing you a valid certificate. A simple "I am bonded and insured" should not suffice. Ask to see copy's of their certificates.

Brad is right. They can provide you copy of their bond, or certificate of insurance. We require that all the time for companies we do business with.
