You should always get a tracking number. This way you know where your package is at and can avoid this type of situation altogether. But unfortunately, you probably will just have to pay the money back. I'm not saying it's fair to you, but it really is his word against yours. And without that tracking number, you can't show them that you even mailed it in the first place. Good luck, and sorry about the idiot you sold your item to. But next time make sure you get the tracking number, or you could require shipping insurance on all purchases
