Default How much insurance do you have to have for farm land?

I am thinking of buying 70 acres, 50 crop and 20 other. Someone else well farm. Not living there and no structures. Is blanket liability enough?

What do you mean by"blanket liability"? It's pretty vague!!You aren't required to have ANY insurance for farmland. Who's selling the crops? whoever is selling the crops needs liability, or you wont'have a buyer. The owner, if he is renting out the land, can probably do just fine with OL&T liability coverage.

Contact a Broker. There are several answers to this question, all depending on the operations. are there animals, is the land rented out, you'll need liability for farming operations. is this your main source of income. will you be doing all the financials out of your home, will you have hired hands?
