Default Question about Tricare Dental Insurance?

I need to get my wisdom teeth taken out and my insurance only pays 1200 a year I heard that if I got to Balboa (the naval base) to get it done it wont count and i wont have to pay anything. Is that true and if you know about how much is it to have all 4 taken out at a naval hospital?

Will Balboa give you an appointment as a dependent? If so, it doesn't count against the cap.

Another option is to have two taken out now and two after October 1 when the new FY starts. That way you get all $2,400 in less than a month.

My son had all 4 pulled under sedation on my Aetna insurance and it was under $1,200.

Balboa won't take you unless they have room and are accepting dependents. and you will still be required to pay the co pay and deductible.

To get your wisdom teeth pulled at a MTF you will need a referral from your civilian doctor. With Balboa it will be very difficult to get into it.

With having all 4 teeth pulled it will range in price, should be around $500 or so for everything out of your pocket, the rest by the insurance. It is done from Feb 1st to Jan 31st I believe so if you get it done now, you can get fillings, etc.. done later if they are needed. But if the wisdom teeth is all you need then it is more than enough that you have. The cleanings will be fine as well.

Now if you are in the San Diego area, there is a really good dentist towards Murphy canyon area that do offer great deals for the military. It is called Dependent Dental Care and they are awesome! used them myself, had my wisdom teeth pulled there and it was less than $200 for 3 of them.
