Accordingly, life insurance is generally not considered to be indemnity insurance, but rather "contingent" insurance

hi,
It is a general thought, no one goes for insurance on their own, but it is meet with some incident or some force mechanism. After some years if the insured, lost their life due to some unfortunate event, then the family get the benefit of that insurance. This insurance need arise then only. Family was able to live the same manner after the lose.
