It depends on a lot of things. Where you live, how much coverage you want, and the elevation of your house. Depending on when your house was built you might have to have an elevation certificate. I know that most of the flood zone determination was done in the 70s and 80s. The best thing that I can suggest to you is to go and get a quote. Call your local insurance agency, and have them get you a quote.
A few things that you should know. The flood zone determination was determined by FEMA. All of the rating for the flood policy is determined by FEMA also. Flood policies only carry about 250,000 for you house, and 100,000 for contents coverage. So if your house is worth more than 250,000 you can get an excess flood policy. I can tell you right now that an excess flood policy is expensive.
I just did a quote for a guy who wanted 250,000 for the house, and 100,000 for contents, his house was 2 feet above elevation his house was in an AE zone (which means he was in a flood zone), and his deductible was $500, and that premium was $453 annual.
Get a quote, and the insurance company can let you know. A quote is always free no matter who you go to.
I hope that I help.
