Who was it.................oh thats right republican trent lott who made the flood insurance retroactive after katrina so people could pay premiums in total of 10 years and then get their stuff paid for..................

Edit: Not build houses on flood plains? Are you aware that about 7 percent, or 178 million acres, of all U.S. land is floodplain, and, of course, the percentages are much higher along the coasts and major rivers, where most of the larger cities are located.
That is something you pay for if you want it. If you don't have it and your house washes away you are just SOL. Now if I had to pay it for you because I don't need it its socialism.
