Depends what type of insurance you have but they should pay for that. You fight a lot though to get it!

No, the flood is classed as an "Act of god" and the insurance company will not pay out for the damage.

depends on your company , we got caught in the floods in June 05 our car was wrecked but after several hours of drying we tried to jump start it obviously nothing , the insurance company tried to Cull the small print regarding rescue service as it was the car covered not the people in it so the wrong car was ruined!!!! RCA just cover the family, any way to get to the point the fire brigade used their engine to jump start us...Lil it worked to get us home after the whole tarrying experience we were glad of it, 2 days later the whole engine blew and we were told it was flood damage , but cos we had drove away from scene we had a hell of a job for months fighting to prove it in the end it worked but it certainly wasn't straight forward, good luck is all i can say as i have found with every insurance company bar one i have ever dealt with no matter how much you reiterate details etc etc when push comes to shove none of them are worth the paper they are written on.and for your info the only one that has ever sorted us no question was marks and Spencer's a few years ago home insurance and car...best wishes

just to add to that we were fully comp and had had everything they had to offer in their package ..except driving away from the scene..!!!?

Didn't the government outlaw the 'act of God' clause in insurance policies as it could be used to cover almost every eventuality.

If you have COMPREHENSIVE coverage, it does cover water damage caused by flood on the standard auto policy.

If you have comprehensive cover, flood damage cover should be included.

If your daughter has comprehensive insurance then damage caused by flooding will be covered (subject to the excess under the policy).

If cover is Third Party Only or Third Party, Fire & Theft then there is no cover.
