Default How much does your life insurance cost you monthly?

How many people are on the policy? I'm wanting to get life insurance and I'm looking for some idea of how much it is going to cost. Thanks!

I have a 30 year term policy and it covers my spouse and me in one policy. How I did that was add a spouse rider to my policy. We were both 30 years old when we got it and we have $250k coverage on both us for a total of $500k coverage. We pay just $475/year for it. If we bought separate policies, then it would of cost us a total of $560/year. The reason why is that every policy has annual fees included in the premium. Also rates are slightly higher when coverage are not combined together in one policy. Most life insurance companies reduces the rate a little bit if you buy lots of coverage.

At the same time, both us have been investing in mutual funds so that in 30 years, we will have lots of money saved. We are not planning to keep life insurance for more than 30 years.

Costs totally vary depending on:
type of policy
term of policy
death benefit
age
medical underwriting

Life insurance policies are individual - not for "families." Go to Yahoo Personal Finance and read the life insurance section.

What other people pay for their life insurance is of no use to you. It could range from $10/month to $1000/month or more. Just call a life insurance broker and get quotes for life insurance from them. They'll show you what it costs for you and not other people. A good life insurance broker will provide you with a tool to get life insurance quotes right on their web site.

LIfe insurance covers ONE person. There is ONE person on the insurance.

And it's silly to pay MONTHLY, in most cases - adding a $10 to $15 a month installment charge, can more than double the cost of your insurance over the course of a year.

How much *I* pay is going to be completely irrelevant to you, unless you're the same age I was when I took it out, with the same medical conditions, in the same weight range, in the same state, with the same coverage limit.

If' you're 30, perfectly healthy, not overweight or underweight, nonsmoker, you can buy a 20 year term policy, guaranteed renewable and convert able, $250,000 for about $200 a year. OR, you can buy that $250,000 as a whole life policy, for about $150 a month. If you're not 30, or you smoke, or you have ANY medical issues, or depending on which STATE you live in, or how much COVERAGE you want, those numbers are wildly subject to change.

Contrary to another answer on here a policy can list more than ONE person...in the case of joint first to die/joint last to die? Business partnership agreements can also have multiple lives as well.

To answer your questions directly: It would be best to contact insurance broker. They can sift through your details to determine the best options for you. If you are just looking for some rough 'what if' type numbers go to win quote.net and run some numbers there. That website is not some sales leads type website. You just enter in your demographic details along with the amount you want a quote on and it gives you a list of all companies with that product. No 'sign-up', registration or "we'll e-mail or call you with a quote" garbage. Just gives you the information you need.

personal factors that can affect how much does health insurance cost per month:
■Age. Health premiums increases as you add years to your life.
■Medical History. A person’s past and current medical condition can also move the premium favors for or against you.
Gender. Woman oftentimes pay higher premiums than men.
■Place of residence. Every state has its own health insurance laws especially when it comes to coverage and caps.
■Lifestyle choices. Smoking habits, alcohol consumption, obesity and the use of illicit drugs may affect the cost of the plan.
